Top and Tilt Question

Please explain this terminology. I have worked with loaders before and all have had the ability to dump (tilt) at the top of their verticle reach. Is this not what is meant by TOP & TILT. If not please explain??

Top and tilt refers to hydraulic control of your three point links. The top link is replaced with a hydraulic cylinder that you can move in and out from the seat. A TILT cylinder replaces a lift arm (usually the right I think) to tilt the 3-point assembly from the seat. ....

Actually, two valves are required for top and tilt functions. Maybe one valve and a diverter. Some guys just install a hydraulic top cylinder and don't install the tilt cylinder. ....
